A Young Girls Father

A Young Girls Father
She didn't choose you, you chose her
She didn't ask to be here, you brought her
You brought her in this world
But couldn't keep her pearled
They say a girls protector is her father
She had to protect herself, although she was your daughter
Looked for love in the wrong places
Searching through all the wrong faces
There is a difference between a girl raised by her dad
She isn't searching for what she hasn't had
Now that this epiphany has finally come
She began healing and stop feeling numb
Her dad can't hurt her no longer
Growing up with out him made her stronger
A girl who was once desensitized
Has seen the light and realized
The disclaimer that once made her weak
Has brought her to her highest peak
Not casting blame, not placing shame
The reality of the situation remains the same
Once bitter, Now Sweet
A life she's learned, not to repeat
Since her earthly father lacked love
There is one that didn't, the father above
